established in 1969, rebranded in 2019 to Your Hidden Oasis
Welcome!
Rivers Bend was established in 1969, and in February of 2019, it became something deeply personal to me. That’s when I purchased the campground and began shaping it into what I’ve always envisioned — a little piece of “New Heaven.”
My love for the outdoors started long before Rivers Bend. I grew up just down the road in Salisbury, Vermont, riding my bike with my friends to fish the local lakes and rivers. I bought my first fishing pole in grade school, and I still remember the feeling of casting that line for the first time. My father bought me my first shotgun and trusted me with my grandfather’s Winchester Model 94 .30/30. We hunted together — big game, small game — and those days shaped who I am.
On my 16th birthday, I came downstairs for breakfast and found something unexpected at my place at the table — an application to join the fire department. That moment sparked another passion in me: helping people. I went on to study fire science in college and became an EMT. Serving others became one of the most rewarding parts of my life.
When I bought Rivers Bend, that same desire to serve took on a new form. My focus shifted to restoring, improving, and upgrading this campground into the peaceful retreat I saw in my heart. I’ll admit — I didn’t fully know what I was getting into at first. But along the way, I met incredible campers who helped shape the personality Rivers Bend has today. Their stories, their families, and their traditions became part of this place.
Today, Rivers Bend is a securely gated, family-oriented campground, and there’s nothing that makes me prouder than watching families flourish here.
When I was a kid, I had the freedom to roam, explore, and spend long days outdoors. Once you pass under the trestle and enter Rivers Bend, that’s what I hope you feel — like you’ve stepped into a simpler time. A safe place where kids can roam, splash in the river, catch critters, wander the woods, and fish without the constant buzz of today’s fast-paced world. A place where parents can share the same simple outdoor joys they once experienced with their own parents.
I love the sight of families gathered together in the evening, the smell of an old campfire drifting through the air. I even designed an app called Campfire Classics so our guests can listen to old-time radio rebroadcasts — because there’s something magical about those voices crackling through the night while the fire burns low.
Rivers Bend wouldn’t be what it is without the incredible people who stand beside me. Our entire team treats this campground like family, caring for the office, the store, and the grounds with heart and authenticity.
I personally take pride in keeping the park in pristine condition. In the evenings and on weekends, we limit work to emergencies only, so your time here can truly feel like an escape.
Rivers Bend is more than a campground to me. It’s a place to slow down. To reconnect. To build memories that last.
Thank you for visiting — and I hope you’ll come experience this little piece of “New Heaven” for yourself.
