established in 1969 rebranded in 2019 to a piece of “New Heaven”

I Clifford Casavant purchased the business in February 2019. My passion for helping people, camping, hunting, and fishing has roots going back to my childhood. I bought my first fishing pole when I was in grade school where I used to with my friends ride our bike to go fishing in the lakes and rivers around Salisbury is where I grew up. My father bought me my first shotgun and let me use my grandfather’s Winchester model 94 30/30 and we would often go hunting for large and small game. later when I turned 16 when I got up to eat breakfast and go to school on my birthday awaiting me at my spot at the dining table was an application to join the fire department. This ignited a passion in me and I later went to college for fire science and then became an EMT where I found helping others was very rewarding. upon buying Rivers Bend my passion changed to improving and upgrading the facility to the New “Heaven” I see it as.

Not knowing what exactly I was getting into though. I met so many fantastic campers who became the guiding voices to what the campground’s personality has become.

Rivers Bend has become a premier family securely gated campground and I am proud to see so many families flourish when there. When I was a kid, I was able to roam far less encumbered than today’s youth and had lots of family time on outdoor activities. Once you enter the park under the trestle you enter a piece of New Heaven where kids can experience a safe place to roam and romp in the river. The open areas, the woods, catch crawdads, or go fishing without the buzz of today’s high-paced world and where parents can share activities they once shared with their parents. I enjoy seeing the family gathering around and the smell of the Ol’ campfire so much so that I designed an app for customers to be able to listen to “old-time radio classic re-broadcasts” called Campfire Classis”.

Rivers Bend has an amazing crew that helps this become a reality. By my side is my father who is an amazing man and helped guide me even when I make mistakes with love. My manager is an outstanding compassionate person who puts all efforts into making sure you have a great stay and the rest of the staff are a blessing to have as part of our team making sure the office and store runs compassionately so your time is as authentic to River Bends mission as possible!

I enjoy making sure the park is in pristine condition for your stay and on the evenings and weekends work is kept to emergency work only so you can truly be away from the hustle and bustle of today’s world.
